Process and Specifications
● Process Flow:
Material Cutting - Forging of Mold Blank - Rough Mechanical Processing - Cold Extrusion Forming - Recrystallization Annealing - Fine Mechanical Processing - Carburizing - Quenching and Tempering - Grinding and Polishing - Assembly.
● Process Specifications:
First Quenching: Temperature 880℃, Second Quenching：780~820°C,Hardness 156-179HB.
Main Features
Compared with 15Cr steel, it has higher strength and hardenability. The critical hardening diameter in oil is 4 to 22mm, and in water it is 11 to 40mm. However, its toughness is relatively poor. During carburizing, this steel still has a tendency for grain growth. Direct quenching after cooling has a significant impact on impact toughness. Therefore, secondary quenching is required after carburizing to improve the core toughness of the parts. There is no tempering brittleness. The cold strain plasticity of the steel is high, and it can be drawn at cold temperatures. Machinability is good in the high-temperature normalized or quenched and tempered state, but it is poor after annealing. 20Cr is a pearlitic steel with good weldability. Generally, no heat treatment is required after welding. However, for parts with a thickness greater than 15mm, preheating is necessary before welding, and tempering heat treatment is not required after welding.
