Excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion,Niobium (Nb), a stabilizing element, is added to TP347/TP348. Compared to chromium, niobium has a far higher ability to bond to carbon. It will preferentially create stable niobium (NbC) carbides, "fixing" the carbon and stopping chromium carbide development. This essentially stops intergranular corrosion and chromium depletion zones from happening.
Outstanding performance at high temperatures.They are stronger and more resistant to creep at high temperatures because to the inclusion of niobium. Compared to regular 304 and 321 stainless steels with titanium stabilization, their high-temperature endurance strength is often higher.
As a result, they are frequently utilized in high-temperature settings such boilers, heat exchangers, superheater pipes, etc.

1.The minimum wall thickness at any point shall not be more than 0.015 in.[0.46 mm] under the specified wall thickness.[This tolerance is slightly more than commercial tolerances on sheet and plate to allow for possible loss of thickness caused by manufacturing operations.]

Pressure Tests
1.When hydrostatic test equipment is not available,the pipe may be air or gas pressure tested with an internal pressure of 100 psi[700KPa].The weld and weld area shall be inspected with the use of soap solution or any other prepared solution which will detect the leakage of air or gas from the inside.
2.Instead of a pressure test,when mutually agreed upon between the purchaser and mauhfacturer,the entire weld area of each pipe,including circumferential welds,may be tested by nondestructive testing methods.These methods shall be capable of detecting both surface and subsurface defects.
